Known as "Hollywood North," Vancouver boasts one of the largest film/television industries in the world, second only to Los Angeles and New York.
Get some cultural insight at Granville Island and Vancouver Downtown. Visiting Kitsilano Beach and Vancouver Seawall will get you outdoors. Explore Vancouver's surroundings by going to Britannia Mine Museum (in Britannia Beach), Steveston Heritage Fishing Village (in Richmond) and Deep Cove (in North Vancouver). There's still lots to do: walk around Stanley Park, wander the streets of Gastown, admire the masterpieces at Museum of Anthropology, and admire the striking features of Bloedel Conservatory.

Many urban centers call themselves "Garden City," but thanks to its many manicured parks filled with native and exotic plants, Victoria probably deserves than moniker more than most.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Sat): go for a walk through The Butchart Gardens, then see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, then stop by The Papery, and finally view the masterpieces at Alcheringa Gallery. On the 11th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at Royal BC Museum, get a sense of history and politics at Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, and then take a leisurely stroll along Inner Harbour.

Getting from Vancouver to Victoria by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of car and ferry; or ride a ferry. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Vancouver in August: highs in Victoria hover around 22°C, while lows dip to 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 12th (Mon) to allow time for travel to Toronto.

The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time (PST) to Eastern Standard Time (EST), which is usually a 3 hour difference. Traveling from Victoria in August, things will get somewhat warmer in Toronto: highs are around 30°C and lows about 20°C.
