Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Please note that visitors are no longer allowed to trek up Uluru.

Located right in the center of Australia, the national park boasts perhaps the country's most iconic natural symbol and a sacred place for the region's indigenous people--as well as Kata Tjuta, a collection of 36 red rocks forming an equally distinctive sight.
You've now added Lungkata Walk to your itinerary. On the 17th (Tue), view the masterpieces at Walkatjara Art Uluru, then get engrossed in the history at Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, then contemplate the waterfront views at Mutitjulu Waterhole, and finally explore the striking landscape at Uluru. Here are some ideas for day two: explore the striking landscape at Walpa Gorge, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Kata Tjuta / Mount Olga, and then go for a walk through Lungkata Walk.

To find other places to visit, photos, reviews, and other tourist information, you can read our Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park travel route planner.

In March, daily temperatures in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park can reach 41°C, while at night they dip to 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
