Experience remote island living in Sado, a city in Niigata Prefecture encompassing all of the inhabited areas of Sado Island.
Kick off your visit on the 7th (Thu): stop by Sado Steamship, then stroll around Toki no Mori Park, then steep yourself in history at Historic Relic Sado Gold Mine, and finally wander the streets of Shukunegi. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the pleasant sights at Ogura Senmaida, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Kimpoku, then explore the activities along Senkakuwan, and finally contemplate the long history of Kitazawa Fuyusenkojo Remains.

To see where to stay, maps, and more tourist information, refer to the Sado trip itinerary planning site.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiport is Niigata Airport. November in Sado sees daily highs of 56°F and lows of 45°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
