One of Germany’s oldest towns and home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Regensburg today offers a medieval charm not found in many of the country’s cities today.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Thu): steep yourself in history at Altes Rathaus, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Old Town, then contemplate the long history of Befreiungshalle Kelheim, and finally contemplate the long history of Monastery Weltenburg. On your second day here, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Emmeram Church, admire the striking features of Cathedral of St Peter's, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Alte Kapelle, then pause for some serene contemplation at St. George, then take an in-depth tour of Walhalla, and finally don't miss a visit to Waldwipfelweg.

If you are flying in from Canada, the closest major airports are Flughafen München-Riem, Nuremberg Airport and Memmingen Allgau Airport. In October, plan for daily highs up to 15°C, and evening lows to 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
