City of Oaks

For those not from the South, Raleigh might be one of the region's better-kept travel secrets.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Fri): explore the world behind art at North Carolina Museum of Art, then see where the action happens at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, then admire the natural beauty at Sarah P. Duke Gardens, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at The Chapel of the Cross. On the 3rd (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get curious at North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, engage your brain at Marbles Kids Museum, then admire the striking features of James B. Hunt Jr. Library, and finally walk around Pullen Park.

For traveler tips, maps, and other tourist information, you can read our Raleigh route planner.

If you are flying in from Bahamas, the closest major aiports are Raleigh Durham International Airport, Piedmont Triad International Airport and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Expect a daytime high around 19°C in November, and nighttime lows around 4°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
