Rising to prominence under feudal rule in the 16th century, the city of Nagahama sits in the northeast Shiga Prefecture, on the shores of Lake Biwa.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Sat): get to know the fascinating history of Kinomotojuku, get to know the fascinating history of Kurokabe Square, then contemplate the long history of Oumi Shonin Yashiki Nakae Jungoro Tei, and finally steep yourself in history at Kannonshoji Temple.
