Getafe is a city in the south of the Madrid metropolitan area, Spain, and one of the most populated and industrialised cities in the area. Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Catedral Santa Maria Magdalena. Start off your visit on the 4th (Thu): admire the landmark architecture of Real Sitio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial, walk around Parque de la alhondiga, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Catedral Santa Maria Magdalena. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the long history of Plaza mayor de Chinchon, get engrossed in the history at Museo de la Guerra Civil, and then get in on the family fun at Parque Warner Madrid.

To see maps, where to stay, and other tourist information, refer to the Getafe travel route site .

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major airport is Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport. Expect a daytime high around 34°C in June, and nighttime lows around 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Fri) to allow time to travel back home.
