Elciego is a town and municipality located at the southern end of the province of Álava, in the Basque Country, northern Spain.This town lies in the world-famous Rioja wine-production region, and is home to the architecturally cutting-edge Hotel Marqués de Riscal, opened in 2006, designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry. Kick off your visit on the 25th (Sat): learn about winemaking at Bodegas Lecea, learn about winemaking at Vivanco. Cultura de Vino, then do a tasting at Bodegas Valdelana, and finally don't miss a visit to Plaza Mayor. Here are some ideas for day two: do a tasting at Vinedos y Bodegas de la Marquesa, learn about winemaking at Bodegas Tritium, then learn about winemaking at Bodegas Riojanas, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Parroquia San Andres Apostol, and finally do a tasting at Bodegas Marques de Riscal.
