Surrounded by lovely, largely unpopulated countryside, Coonabarabran is notable for the number of small churches in the area.
Start off your visit on the 15th (Sat): examine the collection at Crystal Kingdom, then see the sky in a new way at Siding Spring Observatory, then examine the collection at Crystal Kingdom Museum, and finally Head underground at Sandstone Caves.
