Akashi is a city located in southern Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan, on the Seto Inland Sea west of Kobe.As of April 1, 2017, the city has an estimated population of 294,312 and a population density of 6,000 persons per km². Kick off your visit on the 30th (Sat): stroll around Akashi Park, then explore the historical opulence of Himeji Castle, then admire the natural beauty at Koko-en, and finally make a trip to Otemae Street. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: steep yourself in history at Ruins of Akashi Castle, get outside with Amore Beach, don't miss a visit to Awaji Highway Oasis, take some stellar pictures from Awajihanasajiki, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Izanagi Shrine, and finally snap pictures at Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.
