The oldest of Norway's major cities, Trondheim sits on the southern shore of one of the country's longest fjords.
On the 3rd (Fri), see the interesting displays at Rockheim, then make a splash at Pirbadet, and then make a trip to Old Town Bridge. Here are some ideas for day two: learn about all things military at Kristiansten Fortress, then see the sky in a new way at Vitensenteret i Trondheim, and then wander the streets of Bakklandet.

To see other places to visit, ratings, where to stay, and more tourist information, you can read our Trondheim day trip planner.

Geel, Belgium to Trondheim is an approximately 8.5-hour combination of car and flight. You can also drive. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Geel in July: highs in Trondheim hover around 22°C, while lows dip to 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Harstad.

Harstad

Harstad ©
Harstad is the second-most populated municipality in Troms county, Norway. Kids will appreciate attractions like Grottebadet Waterpark and Mountain Hike to Musvannet. Change things up with these side-trips from Harstad: Narvik (Narvikfjellet, Narvik Krigsmuseum, &more), The Jaeger Lake (in Svensby) and Sortland (Inga Sami Siida & Jennestad Trading Post). There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Keipen, let little ones run wild at Generalhagen, take a leisurely stroll along Hemmestad Wharf, and hit the slopes at Sollifjellet Alpinsenter.

To find ratings, where to stay, other places to visit, and tourist information, go to the Harstad online day trip planner.
