Nantou provides good access to the cultural and natural sites of the surrounding county of the same name.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Ali Mountain (Alishan) and Chung Tai World Museum. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Nantou: Shun Bao Fu De Temple (in Alishan), Fenrui Historic Trail (in Chiayi) and Lukang (Lukang, Tianhou Temple, &more).
