Squamish

— 18 nights

Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada

Easily accessible from both Whistler and Vancouver, little Squamish sits in the middle of one of Canada's scenic natural areas, affectionately called the "Sea to Sky Country." A vacation in Squamish provides the perfect opportunity to try a range of outdoor activities, so it's not surprising the town calls itself the "Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada." Visitors get their dose of adrenaline by rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, golfing, whitewater rafting, or kite surfing in the area.
Get out of town with these interesting Squamish side-trips: Whyte Lake Trail (in Caulfeild) and Sechelt Inlets Marine Provincial Park (in Sechelt). There's still lots to do: enjoy some diversion at Britannia Mine Museum, go for a stroll along the water at Sewell's Marina, get engrossed in the history at West Coast Railway Heritage Park, and hike along Garibaldi Provincial Park.

In October in Squamish, expect temperatures between 17°C during the day and 7°C at night.
