Granada boasts numerous well-preserved examples of exquisite Moorish architecture, not the least of which is the Alhambra, an ancient citadel and royal palace.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Alhambra and Royal Chapel of Granada. You'll explore and learn at Museo Refugio de la Guerra Civil and ​​Cueva Museo. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Granada: Sinagoga del Agua (in Ubeda), Natural Park Sierras de Cazorla (in Cazorla) and Jaén Cathedral (in Jaen). There's much more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica de San Juan de Dios, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Monasterio Cartuja, and contemplate the long history of Conjunto Monumental de La Alcazaba.

A city of rich Moorish heritage, Seville is the cultural and financial center of southern Spain, and the site of numerous festivals throughout the year.
Step off the beaten path and head to Iglesia Colegial del Salvador and Muelle de las Carabelas. Royal Alcázar of Seville and Museo De Bellas Artes De Sevilla will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with a short trip to La Rabida Monastery in Huelva (about 1h 20 min away). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Plaza de España, admire the masterpieces at Las Duenas, deepen your understanding at Royal Tobacco Factory, and take a stroll through Centro Historico de Sevilla.

Take a train from Cordoba to Seville in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. When traveling from Cordoba in May, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Seville: temperatures range from 79°F by day to 58°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Wed) to allow time to travel back home.
