Known to most by its German name Auschwitz, the modestly sized city of Oswiecim sits at the foot of the Jura Mountains, just 50 km (30 mi) west of Krakow.
On the 25th (Fri), take an in-depth tour of Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of the Transfiguration.

You can drive from Wroclaw to Oswiecim in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 56°F in October, and nighttime lows around 40°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Krakow.
