Kalamata is the second most populous city of the Peloponnese peninsula, after Patras, in southern Greece and the largest city of the homonymous administrative region. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Niokastro: Pylos Castle and Kalogrias Beach. Visiting Romanos Beach and Skoutari Beach will get you outdoors. Get out of town with these interesting Kalamata side-trips: Nemea (Ktima Palivou & Domaine Bairaktaris), Corinth (Kilix Ceramic Crafts, Temple of Apollo, &more) and Archelon Sea Turtles Rescue Center (in Glifada). There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Zaga Beach, take an in-depth tour of Archaeological Museum of Messenia, stroll through Agios Nikolaos Beach, and admire the landmark architecture of Ypapanti Church.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Kalamata Airport, Zakynthos International Airport "Dionysios Solomos" and Araxos Airport. Expect a daytime high around °F in June, and nighttime lows around °F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
