Ishigaki

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Start off your visit on the 22nd (Fri): look for gifts at Pinion Direct Shop. On the 23rd (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: tour the pleasant surroundings at Yonehara Beach, get outside with Cape Hirakubozaki, and then enjoy breathtaking views from Tamatorizaki Observatory.

Lisbon, Portugal to Ishigaki is an approximately 21.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Western European Time (WET) to Japan Standard Time (JST), which is usually a 9 hour difference. Miyakojima

A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
Get outdoors at Sunayama Beach and Yonaha Maehama Beach. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Aragusuku Beach and Scuba & Snorkeling. There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Toguchi no Hama, take in the views from Ikema Ohashi Bridge, and make a trip to Boraga Limestone Cave.

You can fly from Ishigaki to Miyakojima in 2 hours. In March, daytime highs in Miyakojima are 26°C, while nighttime lows are 20°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Wed) to allow time to travel to Onna-son.

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Thu): explore the historical opulence of Katsuren Castle Ruins, then browse the different shops at AEONMALL OKINAWA RYCOM, and then stop by Onna Station Nakayukui Market. Step off the beaten path and head to Adachi Museum of Art and Yaegaki Shrine. Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo and Hakuho no Sato will appeal to museum buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Matsue side-trips: Izumo (Karakama Shrine, Hinomisaki Shrine, & more) and Osakana Center Mikuriya (in Daisen-cho). Getting from Matsue to Takayama by combination of taxi, flight, and train takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. In April in Takayama, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 9°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Ise.
