Toronto, Canada to Tokyo is an approximately 16.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. You'll lose 14 hours traveling from Toronto to Tokyo due to the time zone difference. In July, Tokyo is a bit warmer than Toronto - with highs of 36°C and lows of 27°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sat) so you can go by car to Fujikawaguchiko-machi.

A resort town located in the foothills of Mount Fuji, Fujikawaguchiko-machi acts as a base for many who plan to take one of the trails up the iconic volcano.
Start off your visit on the 7th (Sun): tour the pleasant surroundings at Lake Kawaguchi, then don't miss a visit to Mt. Fuji 5th Station, then admire the natural beauty at Fuji View Hotel Japanese Garden, and finally don't miss a visit to Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba. Keep things going the next day: find something for the whole family at Fuji-Q Highland and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kawaguchi Sengen Shrine.

Getting from Tokyo to Fujikawaguchiko-machi by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a bus. When traveling from Tokyo in July, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Fujikawaguchiko-machi: temperatures range from 28°C by day to 25°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Mon) so you can travel to Hiroshima.

Traveling from Fujikawaguchiko-machi in July, expect nights in Hiroshima to be about the same, around 28°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 36°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Wed) to allow enough time to take a train to Himeji.

Start off your visit on the 11th (Thu): admire the natural beauty at Koko-en Garden, then don't miss a visit to Nishi no Maru Nagatsubone, then take in the pleasant sights at Himeji Castle, and finally make a trip to Shoshazan Engyoji.

Take a train from Hiroshima to Himeji in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and train. In July, daytime highs in Himeji are 33°C, while nighttime lows are 29°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Thu) so you can catch the train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Step out of Kyoto to go to Osaka and see Universal Studios Japan, which is approximately 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kinkaku-ji, don't miss a visit to Heian Shrine, and browse for treasures at Maiko Antiques Kyoto.

Traveling from Himeji in July, expect nights in Kyoto to be about the same, around 28°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 37°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Mon) to allow time to take a train to Kanazawa.

Start off your visit on the 16th (Tue): examine the collection at Ishikawa Prefectural Museum for Traditional Products and Crafts, wander the streets of Higashichaya Old Town, then explore the historical opulence of Kanazawa Castle, then stroll around Kenrokuen Garden, and finally admire the masterpieces at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. Here are some ideas for day two: make a trip to Omicho Market, take in the spiritual surroundings of Ninja Temple, steep yourself in history at Nomura Family Samurai House, then admire the striking features of Kanazawa Station, and finally kick back and relax at Gongenmori Beach.

You can take a train from Kyoto to Kanazawa in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In July in Kanazawa, expect temperatures between 34°C during the day and 26°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Takayama.
