You can drive from Safed to Haifa in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. December in Haifa sees daily highs of 22°C and lows of 14°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Wed) to allow time to travel to Eilat.

At the northern extreme of the Red Sea sits Eilat, a resort town popular with domestic and international tourists.
Shop till you drop at Ice Mall Eilat and Eilat Wines. Traveling by combination of train and flight from Haifa to Eilat takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. Traveling from Haifa in December, expect nights in Eilat to be about the same, around 14°C, while days are somewhat warmer, around 27°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sat) so you can go by car to Arad.
