Traveling by train from Rome to Florence takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. Traveling from Rome in July, plan for a bit cooler nights in Florence, with lows around 21°C. On the 28th (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Cannes.
