Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel

As the busy capital of São Miguel, Ponta Delgada represents the most visited place on the island. Known for its historical buildings, the city offers 17th- and 18th-century convents and churches, as well as cobbled pedestrian streets and hidden squares.

Horta is a single municipality and city in the western part of the Archipelago of the Azores, encompassing the island of Faial. Change things up with a short trip to Picowines in Madalena (about 1 hour away). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Museu Scrimshaw, make a short side trip with Trilhos R, take in the spiritual surroundings of Igreja Matriz do Santissimo Salvador, and Head underground at Gruta das Torres.

Lajes do Pico is a municipality in the southern part of the Azores. Kick off your visit on the 8th (Tue): take some stellar pictures from Vigia da Queimada, trek along atiPICO, and then get up close to creatures of the deep with Espaco Talassa. Angra do Heroismo, Terceira

Angra do Heroísmo, generally known as Angra, is a municipality and city on the island of Terceira in the Portuguese autonomous region of the Azores. Take a break from Angra do Heroismo with a short trip to Ceramica da Praia in Cabo Da Praia, about 34 minutes away.
