Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Venture out of the city with trips to Beauty Point (Platypus House & Seahorse World) and Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre (in Beaconsfield). There's still lots to do: stroll around City Park, get great views at Brady's Lookout, wander the streets of Design Inn, and examine the collection at National Automobile Museum of Tasmania.

Adelaide to Launceston is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, ferry, and bus. You'll lose 0.5 hours traveling from Adelaide to Launceston due to the time zone difference. In April, Launceston is little chillier than Adelaide - with highs of 20°C and lows of 7°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Sat) early enough to go by car to Stanley.

Stanley is a town on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia. Venture out of the city with trips to Wonders of Wynyard Exhibition and Visitor Information Centre (in Wynyard), Arthur River (The Tarkine Drive & Edge of the World) and Burnie (Makers Workshop, Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden, &more). When in Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, make a side trip to see O'Neills Creek Picnic Reserve in Gowrie Park, approximately Gowrie Park away. There's still lots to do: explore the activities along Dove Lake Circuit, admire the sheer force of Pencil Pine Falls and Knyvet Falls, identify plant and animal life at Devils @ Cradle, and hike along Larmairremener tabelti.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Sun): enjoy the sand and surf at Wineglass Bay, walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout, and then make a trip to Mt Amos Climb. On the 10th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: stop by Freycinet Marine Farm and then explore the striking landscape of Freycinet National Park.
