The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Haeundae Beach and Yongdusan Park. There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haedong Yonggung Temple, take some stellar pictures from Taejongdae, hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market, and have some family-friendly fun at Zero Latency VR - Busan Nampo.

Singapore, Singapore to Busan is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Singapore Standard Time (SGT) to Korean Standard Time (KST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. In December, Busan is cooler than Singapore - with highs of 10°C and lows of 0°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kids will enjoy Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram. There's much more to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond, examine the collection at Gyeongju National Museum, explore the world behind art at Silla Arts And Science Museum, and steep yourself in history at Cheomseongdae Observatory.

Getting from Busan to Gyeongju by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. While traveling from Busan, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Gyeongju, ranging from highs of 3°C to lows of 0°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Mon) so you can drive to Gangneung.

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
On the 8th (Tue), get outside with Jeongdongjin Beach, get outside with Gyeongpo Beach, and then engage your brain at Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum. Keep things going the next day: wander the wide-open spaces of 산1-107 Hoenggye-ri, Daegwalnyeong-myeon, then wander the wide-open spaces of Daegwanryeong Yangtte Ranch, and then cool off at Ocean 700.

Traveling by car from Gyeongju to Gangneung takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Sokcho.

Tourism in Sokcho mostly revolves around the local national park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Seoraksan National Park and Naksansa Temple. Change things up with a short trip to Naksan Beach in Yangyang-gun (about 32 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: cool off at Seorak Waterpia, make a trip to Abai Village, hunt for treasures at Sokcho Jungang Market, and hike along Ulsanbawi Rock.

You can drive from Gangneung to Sokcho in an hour. Another option is to take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Seoul.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Start off your visit on the 16th (Wed): enjoy the sand and surf at Gimnyeong Seonsegi Beach, then explore the fascinating underground world of Manjanggul Cave, then kick back and relax at Hamdeok Beach, and finally take in nature's colorful creations at Kim Kyung-Sook Sunflower Farm.
