Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Popular historic sites such as Mosteiro dos Jeronimos and Quinta da Regaleira are in your itinerary. Museu Calouste Gulbenkian and Carmo Archaeological Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Change things up with these side-trips from Lisbon: Sintra (Park and National Palace of Pena & Castelo dos Mouros) and Cabo da Roca (in Colares). There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Castelo de S. Jorge, take a stroll through Alfama, see the interesting displays at Museu Nacional do Azulejo, and make a trip to Belém Tower.

For more things to do, photos, traveler tips, and other tourist information, you can read our Lisbon day trip planning app.
