Hugging the western tip of Lake Titicaca, Puno serves as a melting pot of indigenous and imported cultures, and makes a great base for explorations around the region.
Start off your visit on the 10th (Fri): step off the mainland to explore Uros Floating Islands, then explore the activities along Lake Titicaca, and then make a trip to Chullpas. Traveling by combination of flight and bus from Cusco to Puno takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Expect little chillier evenings in Puno when traveling from Cusco in May, with lows around -1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sat) so you can drive to Arequipa.
