Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Get in touch with nature at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Reserva Nacional Lomas de Lachay. Your inner history buff will appreciate Huaca Pucllana and Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas. Go for a jaunt from Lima to Huarochiri to see El Canon de Austisha about 2 hours away. There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Museo Larco, enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Penascal, visit Miraflores, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Centro Historico de Lima.

Sao Paulo, Brazil to Lima is an approximately 7.5- hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or drive. The time zone difference when traveling from Sao Paulo to Lima is minus 2 hours. Traveling from Sao Paulo in December, you will find days in Lima are slightly colder (28°C), and nights are about the same (22°C). Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Paracas.
