The time zone changes from Australian Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales) to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. In September, Osaka is a bit warmer than Sydney - with highs of 32°C and lows of 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Thu) so you can travel to Tokyo.

Getting from Tokyo to Sapporo by flight takes about 4 hours. Other options: do a combination of train, taxi, and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. Prepare for slightly colder weather when traveling from Tokyo in September: high temperatures in Sapporo hover around 23°C and lows are around 20°C. You'll have a few hours on the 22nd (Sun) to wrap things up before traveling home.
