Island Countryside Settlement and Tojinbaka will appeal to history buffs. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Barasu Island and Nakamoto Beach. Explore Ishigaki's surroundings by going to Iko Pier (in Kuro-shima) and Ubutaki Lookouts (in Kohama-jima).
