Known as one of the greatest small cities in the world, Amsterdam charms visitors with its cool and cozy atmosphere.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Zaanse Schans and Begijnhof. Do some cultural sightseeing at Van Gogh Museum and World Heritage Kinderdijk. Change things up with a short trip to Panorama Mesdag in The Hague (about 1h 5 min away). There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Anne Frank House, explore the activities along Herengracht, explore the world behind art at Rijksmuseum, and stroll through The Amstel.
