Situated in a basin between two mountain ranges, Taipei appeals to tourists with its blend of Asian cultures, living side by side amidst Japanese-era mansions and Taoist temples.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Beitou Public Library, Taipei as well as Huashan 1914 Creative Park. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Juming Museum and Elephant Trunk Rock. Shop till you drop at COMMUNE A7 and Linhuatai Tea Shop. Step out of Taipei to go to Zhongli and see Metro Walk Shopping Center - Taoyuan, which is approximately 1 hour away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Tianhou Temple, make a trip to Chuang's House, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Hongludi.

If you are flying in from Malaysia, the closest major aiports are Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei Songshan Airport and Taichung International Airport / Ching Chuang Kang Air Base. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in October, and nighttime lows around 26°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 5th (Sat) to allow time for the train ride to Taichung.

Known its good weather, Taichung boasts an interesting set of cultural attractions, including many temples showing the development of religious architectural styles in the area and forming focal points for most tours of Taichung.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Sat): see the interesting displays at Taiwan Balloon Museum and then stop by Sugar & Spice - Taichung Fengjia. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 6th (Sun): take in the exciting artwork at National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Pusasi, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Taichung Baptist Church, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Nantian Temple.

Traveling by train from Taipei to Taichung takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In October in Taichung, expect temperatures between 34°C during the day and 24°C at night. You will have some time to spend on the 7th (Mon) before leaving for Hualien.

On the 7th (Mon), relax in the rural setting at Tai Kai Xin Farm. Take a train from Taichung to Hualien in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Wed) early enough to take a train to Yilan City.

Yilan City

Yilan City is a city and the county seat of Yilan County, Taiwan. Head to Mary Leu Fine Art Carving Gallery and Chili Hunter -Wenchuang Shopfor plenty of shopping.
