One of Germany's most important ports for decades, Kiel combines its working industrial center with a rich heritage of music, fine dining, and pleasant scenery.
Visit Ploen Castle and U-Boot U 995 for their historical value. Discover out-of-the-way places like Great Ploen Lake and Himmelmoor. Venture out of the city with trips to NABU-Wasservogelreservat Wallnau (in Fehmarn), Prinzenhaus (in Plon) and Wildpark Eekholt KG (in Grossenaspe).
