Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Take a break from the city and head to Camusdarach Beach and Morar Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Fort William: Highland Titles Nature Reserve (in Duror), Glenfinnan Viaduct (in Glenfinnan) and Glen Etive (in Glencoe Village). There's still lots to do: take a peaceful walk through Ariundle Oakwood National Nature Reserve, stop by All The Goodness, explore the activities along Loch Linnhe Picnic Area, and admire the verdant scenery at Glencoe.
