One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Gyeongbokgung Palace and Hwaseong Fortress. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Deoksugung and National Palace Museum of Korea. Step out of Seoul to go to Suwon and see Dongbukgongsimdon, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. The adventure continues: pause for some photo ops at Statue of Sejong the Great, take an in-depth tour of Dokdo Museum Seoul, and contemplate the long history of Namsangol Hanok Village.

Daejeon

Daejeon
A sprawling metropolis and center for research, Daejeon stands as the fifth largest city in South Korea.
On the 9th (Thu), witness a stunning natural landmark at Yuseong Hot Springs Public Foot Bath, identify plant and animal life at Hanbat Arboretum, then see the sky in a new way at Daejeon Observatory, and finally steep yourself in history at Hoedeok Dongchundang. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 10th (Fri): make a trip to Daejeon National Cemetery, take in the spiritual surroundings of Gapsa temple, and then get outside with Daechungho Obaekri-Gil.

You can drive from Seoul to Daejeon in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Seoul in September, expect little chillier with lows of 22°C in Daejeon. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sat) so you can travel to Gyeongju.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Get outdoors at Taehwagang National Garden and Gyeongju Bird Park. Do some cultural sightseeing at Bulguksa Temple and Gyerim Forest. Spend the 11th (Sat) exploring nature at Gyeongju National Park. The adventure continues: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Golgulsa Temple.

Traveling by train from Daejeon to Gyeongju takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In September, plan for daily highs up to 25°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Tue) so you can go by car to Busan.

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Escape the urban bustle at Gwangalli Beach and Dadaepo Beach. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Haedong Yonggung Temple and Birthplace of President Roh Moo-hyun. Venture out of the city with trips to Paraeso Falls (in Ulsan), Yangsan (Yangsan Tower & Tongdosa Temple) and Gimhae (Gimhae National Museum & Daeseong-dong Ancient Tomb). Drive from Gyeongju to Busan in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Gyeongju in September, expect nights in Busan to be about the same, around 21°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 30°C. You'll have a few hours on the 18th (Sat) to wrap things up before traveling home.
