Strumica is the largest city in eastern Republic of Macedonia, near the Novo Selo-Petrich border crossing with Bulgaria. Start off your visit on the 6th (Fri): make a trip to Monastery of St Leontius, then don't miss a visit to Monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos Eleusa, and then explore the ancient world of Carevi Kuli. On the 7th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Belasica Mountain, take in the dramatic scenery at Smolari Falls, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Koleshino Waterfall.

Bitola is a city in the southwestern part of the Republic of Macedonia. Take a break from Bitola with a short trip to St. Archangel Michael Monastery in Prilep, about 46 minutes away. Located on Lake Ohrid, the town of Ohrid earned the nickname Jerusalem of the Balkans because it was once home to 365 churches.
Go for a jaunt from Ohrid to Kalista to see Holy Mother of God about 38 minutes away. You can drive from Bitola to Ohrid in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In March in Ohrid, expect temperatures between 14°C during the day and 2°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sat) so you can go by car to Mavrovo.
