Panama City, Panama to Iquitos is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight, car, and ferry; or do a combination of bus and flight. Traveling from Panama City in August, plan for a bit cooler nights in Iquitos, with lows around 25°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Trujillo.

Considered the country's capital of culture, Trujillo was the birthplace of the North Group, a community of artists and intellectuals that included celebrated poet Cesar Vallejo and notable novelist Ciro Alegria.
On the 12th (Mon), steep yourself in history at Huaca del Sol y la Luna, then explore the ancient world of Chan Chan, then make a trip to Plaza de Armas de Trujillo, and finally see the interesting displays at Museo Cao.
