Traveling by car from Taos to Albuquerque takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a shuttle. In August, Albuquerque is somewhat warmer than Taos - with highs of 88°F and lows of 64°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Mon) early enough to go by car to Alamogordo.
