Venice of the West

Regarded as an art and history city, Nantes is called the Venice of the West.
Attractions like Les Machines de L'ile and Jardin des Plantes make great kid-friendly stops. Venture out of the city with trips to Angers (Maison d'Adam, Chateau d'Angers, &more), Zoo de La Fleche (in La Fleche) and La Rochelle (Marche du Centre Ville, Aquarium La Rochelle, &more). Pack the 18th (Tue) with family-friendly diversions at Puy du Fou. Pack the 23rd (Sun) with family-friendly diversions at Le Grand Defi. There's lots more to do: step into the grandiose world of Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne, wander the streets of Passage Pommeraye, trek along Voie Verte Carquefou - Saint-Mars-la-Jaille, and test your problem-solving skills at Escape Hunt Nantes.
