The City of Lakes

Located on both banks of the Mississippi River, Minneapolis salutes the state's love of the outdoors with numerous lakes, wetlands, creeks, and waterfalls--many connected to one another by a national scenic byway great for sightseeing.
Cathedral of Saint Paul and James J. Hill House will appeal to history buffs. You'll explore and learn at Minneapolis Institute of Art and Science Museum of Minnesota. Situated on the westernmost point of the Lake Superior, Duluth represents a booming port city.
Get some historical perspective at Glensheen, The Historic Congdon Estate and Forest History Center. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Split Rock Lighthouse and Lakewalk. Change things up with a short trip to Gooseberry Falls State Park in Two Harbors (about 50 minutes away). And it doesn't end there: admire all the interesting features of Minnesota's North Shore Scenic Drive, hit the slopes at Spirit Mountain, examine the collection at S.S. William A.
