Milan to Como is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also take a train. In October in Como, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 11°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Varenna.

Varenna is a comune (municipality) on Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60km north of Milan and about 20km northwest of Lecco.Varenna was founded by local fishermen in 769, and was later allied of the commune of Milan. Relax by the water at Spiaggia Tranquilla and Riva Bianca Beach. You'll explore and learn at Villa Carlotta and Forte Montecchio Nord. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Varenna: Chiosco Villa Carlotta (in Tremezzina), Jungle Raider Park (in Civenna) and Sacro Monte di Ossuccio (in Ossuccio). Traveling by car from Como to Varenna takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can ride a ferry; or take a train. In October, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 11°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Fri) to allow enough time to drive back home.
