Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Odaiba as well as Ginza. Head to Takeshita Street and Ameya Yokocho (Ameyoko)for some retail therapy. There's much more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Senso-ji Temple, don't miss a visit to Tokyo Skytree, shop like a local with Asakusa, and get a sense of history and politics at Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings.

Singapore, Singapore to Tokyo is an approximately 10.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of car and ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Singapore to Tokyo. In October, Tokyo is a bit cooler than Singapore - with highs of 26°C and lows of 18°C. On the 5th (Mon), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Yokohama.

Once a small fishing town, Yokohama was one of the first ports to welcome foreign trade in the 19th century, after which it grew into Japan's second largest city and a bustling metropolis.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Mon): steep yourself in history at Hase-dera Temple, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Sankeien Gardens.

Yokohama is just a stone's throw from Tokyo. In October, daily temperatures in Yokohama can reach 25°C, while at night they dip to 19°C. On the 6th (Tue), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Head to Nishiki Market Shopping District and Kyoto Station Buildingfor some retail therapy. Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Nijo Castle will appeal to history buffs. There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ginkakuji Temple, take a stroll around M's KYOTO INFORMATION CENTER, and look for gifts at Gion Fujimuraya.

Traveling by train from Yokohama to Kyoto takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. In October, plan for daily highs up to 27°C, and evening lows to 18°C. You'll have a few hours on the 9th (Fri) to wrap things up before traveling to Osaka.

Proud of their hometown's distinct culture and dialect, many natives of Osaka describe their city as "Japan's anti-capital." An antidote to Tokyo's hectic energy, Osaka marches to the beat of its own drum, serving as the country's longtime commercial and industrial hub.
Your inner history buff will appreciate Osaka Castle and Koyasan Okunoin. For shopping fun, head to Dotonbori or Daimaru Museum Umeda. Explore Osaka's surroundings by going to Koya-cho (Torodo Temple & Saito). There's much more to do: get in on the family fun at Universal Studios Japan, look for gifts at Jikko Japanese Knife Shop Namba Skyo, take in panoramic vistas at Kuchu Teien Observatory, and visit Minami (Namba).

On the 12th (Mon), revel in the low prices at Kobe Sanda Premium Outlets, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Mudoji Temple, then wander the streets of Kobe Harborland, and finally take a stroll through Nankinmachi (Kobe Chinatown). Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 13th (Tue): gain insight at Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution, take in nature's colorful creations at Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens, then stop by Moriya Shop, then browse the different shops at Rokko Garden Terrace, and finally browse the different shops at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens.

Kobe is just a stone's throw from Osaka. In October in Kobe, expect temperatures between 26°C during the day and 20°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Wed) so you can catch the train to Fukuoka.

The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
Get some historical perspective at Dazaifu Tenman-gu and Komyozen-ji Temple. Head to Osakana Tengoku and Kobo Tottanfor plenty of shopping. Change things up with these side-trips from Fukuoka: Huis Ten Bosch (in Sasebo), Kumamoto Castle (in Kumamoto) and Nagasaki (Megane Bridge, Glover Garden, & more).
