The time zone changes from Singapore Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Singapore in December, things will get colder in Tokyo: highs are around 14°C and lows about 4°C. Start off your visit on the 25th (Wed): sample the tasty concoctions at Watanabe Sake Brewery, contemplate the long history of Kanda house, learn more about the world around you at Hida Minzoka Mura Folk Village (Hida no Sato), then savor the flavors at Harada Sake Brewery, and finally examine the collection at Takayama Showa Museum. Here are some ideas for day two: examine the collection at Hikaru Museum, then examine the collection at Lion Dance Ceremony Exhibition Hall (Shishi-Kaikan), then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Daiouji Temple, and finally wander the streets of Sanmachi Suji.

Traveling by car from Tokyo to Takayama takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Tokyo in December, you will find days in Takayama are slightly colder (9°C), and nights are about the same (3°C). Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Kyoto.
