Once a small fishing town, Yokohama was one of the first ports to welcome foreign trade in the 19th century, after which it grew into Japan's second largest city and a bustling metropolis.
On the 23rd (Sun), explore the world behind art at Yokohama Museum of Art. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take a stroll through Yokohama Chinatown, see the interesting displays at Cupnoodles Museum Yokohama, take a stroll through Minato Mirai 21, then steep yourself in history at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and finally see the interesting displays at Shinyokohama Ramen Museum.

Yokohama is just a short distance from Tokyo. In June in Yokohama, expect temperatures between 29°C during the day and 22°C at night. You will leave for Hakone-machi on the 26th (Wed).

Sitting at the foot of Mount Fuji, Hakone-machi has become a popular retreat from Tokyo for locals and tourists alike.
Kick off your visit on the 26th (Wed): steep yourself in history at Yomotokan, take in the spiritual surroundings of Shuzen-ji Temple, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kinomiya Shrine, then step into the grandiose world of Odawara Castle, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Daiyuzan Saijoji Temple (Doryoson).

You can drive from Yokohama to Hakone-machi in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and bus; or take a bus. While traveling from Yokohama, expect little chillier days and about the same nights in Hakone-machi, ranging from highs of 23°C to lows of 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get some historical perspective at Nijo Castle and Kinkaku-ji. Head to Dotonbori and Nishiki Marketfor plenty of shopping. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kyoto: Ibaraki City Cultural Museum (in Ibaraki) and Museum of Oriental Ceramics (in Osaka). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, see the interesting displays at Kyoto International Manga Museum, take an in-depth tour of Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts Fureaikan, and admire the masterpieces at Hosomi Museum.

You can take a train from Hakone-machi to Kyoto in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of flight and train. Traveling from Hakone-machi in June, expect nights in Kyoto to be about the same, around 22°C, while days are somewhat warmer, around 32°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Sun) early enough to take a train to Hiroshima.
