Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like San Giorgio Maggiore and Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. You'll explore and learn at Doge's Palace and Palazzo Mocenigo. There's still lots to do: admire the striking features of Basilica di San Marco, steep yourself in history at Scuola Grande di San Rocco, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Santa Maria dei Miracoli, and pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.

Helsinki, Finland to Venice is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. The time zone difference moving from Eastern European Time (EET) to Central European Time (CET) is minus 1 hour. In July, Venice is a bit warmer than Helsinki - with highs of 36°C and lows of 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Mon) early enough to catch the train to Florence.

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
Step off the beaten path and head to Pitti Palace and Basilica San Miniato al Monte. Do some cultural sightseeing at Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Academy Of Florence Art Gallery. Venture out of the city with trips to Torre del Mangia (in Siena), Museo Ducati (in Borgo Panigale) and Monteriggioni (Walls of Monteriggioni & Castello di Monteriggioni). You can take a train from Venice to Florence in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In July in Florence, expect temperatures between 35°C during the day and 21°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Sat) so you can take a train to Rome.
