Along the Dalmation Coast, the city of Dubrovnik has become famous for its pedestrian-only Old Town surrounded by fortress walls, and its historical heft has earned it World Heritage Site status.
On the 2nd (Wed), make a trip to Upper Corner Tower Foundry Museum, appreciate the extensive heritage of Walls of Dubrovnik, and then step off the mainland to explore Island of Lokrum. On the 3rd (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: wander the streets of Old Town.

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Kick off your visit on the 4th (Fri): contemplate the long history of Halaszbastya, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Matthias Church, then take in the views from Szechenyi Chain Bridge, then take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika), and finally admire the striking features of Hungarian Parliament Building. On the 5th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: pause for some photo ops at Hősök tere, see the interesting displays at House of Terror Museum, then steep yourself in history at Liberty Statue, and finally explore the world behind art at Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galeria).

Fly from Dubrovnik to Budapest in 6.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and shuttle; or drive. Traveling from Dubrovnik in October, expect Budapest to be slightly colder, temps between 19°C and 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.

Kick off your visit on the 6th (Sun): take a stroll through Corfu Old Town, deepen your knowledge of military history at Old Fortress Corfu, then appreciate the history behind Schulenburg Statue, and finally don't miss a visit to Spianada Square. Keep things going the next day: step into the grandiose world of New Fortress, then steep yourself in history at Achilleion Museum, then tour the pleasant surroundings at Paleokastritsa Beach, and finally see the interesting displays at Casa Parlante.
