A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Louvre Museum and Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at La Grande Epicerie de Paris Rive Gauche and Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. Take a break from Paris with a short trip to le coeur d'Alsace in Strasbourg, about 4h 45 min away. There's lots more to do: stop by Deyrolle, get a taste of the local shopping with Carrousel du Louvre, and browse the different shops at Le Louvre des Antiquaires.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Paris is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. The time zone changes from Arabia Standard Time (AST) to Central European Time (CET), which is usually a -2 hour difference. When traveling from Riyadh in December, plan for much colder days in Paris, with highs around 9°C, while nights are slightly colder with lows around 3°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Fri) early enough to take a train to Beaune.

The Wine Capital of the Burgundy region in the Côte-d'Or department, Beaune is a walled city with features remaining from the pre-Roman and Roman eras in eastern France.
Hôtel-Dieu Museum Musée de l'Hôtel-Dieu and Musee Rude will appeal to museum buffs. Shop till you drop at Le Cellier de la Cabiote and Athenaeum. Get out of town with these interesting Beaune side-trips: Semur-en-Auxois (Musee Municipal & Collegiale Notre-Dame de Semur-en-Auxois), MuseoParc Alesia (in Alise-Sainte-Reine) and Dijon (L'Instant Chocolat & La Boutique Maille). You can take a train from Paris to Beaune in 2 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In December, daily temperatures in Beaune can reach 8°C, while at night they dip to 1°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 28th (Mon) so you can catch the train to Marseille.

The 2013 European "Capital of Culture," Marseille is the largest port city on the breezy Mediterranean coast and the second largest city in France.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Tue): buy something for everyone on your list at Grand Littoral, stop by Maison Empereur, then buy something for everyone on your list at Centre Commercial Centre Bourse, then stop by Microcosmos Chai Urbain, and finally stop by Compagnie de Provence (La). Here are some ideas for day two: stop by Santons Fouque, then look for gifts at Aix Moto, then look for gifts at Brulerie Richelme, and finally hunt for treasures at Marche du Prado.

Well-known for the beautiful views of its famous Promenade des Anglais waterfront, Nice is an ethnically-diverse coastal port city on the French Riviera and the fifth most populated city in France.
For shopping fun, head to Galerie Motus or 1862 Wines & Spirits. Musee d'Art Moderne Et d'Art Contemporain and Palais Lascaris are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Change things up with these side-trips from Nice: Cannes (Hall du voyage & Ceneri) and Studio des Fragrances Galimard (in Grasse). There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Castel Plage, look for gifts at Patisserie Canet, examine the collection at Musée Marc Chagall, and take in the exciting artwork at Les Ponchettes.
