Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
You'll explore and learn at Peggy Guggenheim Collection and Museo Ebraico di Venezia. Visit Basilica di San Marco and St Mark's Campanile for their historical value. There's still lots to do: get to know the fascinating history of St. Mark's Square, take in the views from Ponte di Rialto, explore the activities along Canal Grande, and steep yourself in history at Ponte dei Sospiri.

Getting from Istanbul to Venice by flight takes about 6 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Istanbul to Venice. Plan for little chillier nights when traveling from Istanbul in November since evenings lows in Venice dip to 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Thu) so you can take a train to Florence.

Start off your visit on the 16th (Thu): examine the collection at Galleria dell'Accademia, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, then take an in-depth tour of Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, and finally see the interesting displays at Uffizi Gallery.
