An enviable location on the southern end of the Sinai Peninsula and year-round warm weather boost tourism in Sharm El Sheikh and make it one of Egypt's premier travel destinations.

Dahab

Hurghada

Originally a small fishing town on the Red Sea coast, Hurghada developed into Egypt's premier beach destination thanks to its year-round sunny weather and world-class dive sites.

Drive from Dahab to Hurghada in 4 hours. In July in Hurghada, expect temperatures between 45°C during the day and 33°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Marsa Alam.

Marsa Alam

The opening of an international airport and subsequent development of hotels and resorts boosted tourism in Marsa Alam, a town on Egypt's Red Sea coast known for its world-class diving spots.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Wed): look for all kinds of wild species at El Qulan Mangrove Forest and then kick back and relax at Sharm El Luli. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 29th (Thu): enjoy the sand and surf at Gebel El Rosas and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Marsa Mubarak.

Getting from Hurghada to Marsa Alam by car takes about 4 hours. Other options: take a bus. When traveling from Hurghada in July, plan for slightly colder days in Marsa Alam, with highs around 41°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 32°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Thu) early enough to travel to Luxor.

Luxor

A monumental number of archaeological relics from ancient Egypt remain evident in Luxor, the former capital of the New Kingdom.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Fri): look for gifts at Gaddis & Co., then take in the spiritual surroundings of Luxor Temple, and then explore the ancient world of Temple of Karnak. On your second day here, pause for some photo ops at Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, then explore the different monuments and memorials at Valley of the Kings, and then make a trip to Deir el-Shelwit Temple.

You can fly from Marsa Alam to Luxor in 3.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. While traveling from Marsa Alam, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Luxor, ranging from highs of 48°C to lows of 30°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Sat) early enough to travel to Cairo.
