The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Step out of Darwin to go to Batchelor and see Litchfield National Park, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. Spend the 4th (Fri) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. And it doesn't end there: kick back and relax at Mindil Beach, make a short side trip with Offroad Dreaming, take an in-depth tour of RFDS Darwin Tourist Facility, and see the interesting displays at Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.
