Almada is a city and a municipality in Portugal, located on the southern margin of the Tagus River, on the opposite side of the river from Lisbon. Escape the urban bustle at Parque Natural da Arrabida and Ribeira do Cavalo Beach. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Praia de Galapinhos and Praia da California. Explore Almada's surroundings by going to Casa Mae da Rota de Vinhos (in Palmela) and Setubal (Figueirinha Beach & Praca do Bocage). There's lots more to do: appreciate the history behind Santuario Nacional de Cristo Rei, stroll through Lagoa de Albufeira Beach, and make a trip to Overlooking Lisbon.

Relax by the water at Praia da Gale-Fontainhas and Troia Beach.
