Step off the beaten path and head to Hayravank Monastery and Amberd Fortress. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Yerevan: Garni (Basaltic Organ & Garni Gorge), Areni (Noravank Gorge, Noravank Monastery, &more) and Noratus Cemetery (in Noratus).
